How many times can one reinvent themselves? I believe the answer is just about infinite if your desire to lead a kick-ass life is strong enough. All you have to do is find new avenues of personal development to explore and you can continue to make massive growth and change in your life.
So here we are sitting at the New Year. Hope has sprung for millions of people all over the world, with people wanting this year to experience a better life and greater rewards than last year. You have a clean slate, 360 degrees of possibility and unlimited potential to create the life of your dreams. For many, the excitement is palpable. I know it is for me.
The sad reality though, is that very few people will cross the finish line in December any different this year than they did last year. Why? Weak purpose, weak goals, weak vision and a weak plan to carry them all out.
The first part of the problem is that at the deepest levels, most people are not even inspired by their own goals. If your goals don’t light a raging freaking fire within you, they will not come to fruition! It’s as simple as that.
The second part of the problem is that even if people do have inspired goals, they attempt to achieve those goals while living the same habits they have been living for X amount of years. How can you seriously expect anything to change if you are still doing the same thing day in and day out that you have been doing for years. In the words of Dr. Phil, “how’s that been working for ya?”
This goes for people who have already been experiencing some level of success as well. If you just continue with the same habits, same plan, same day to day routine, you’re going to get the same results. The challenge though, is that if you are expecting to smash records and create massive growth this year, your same plan may not be good enough. What can you do different? How can you elevate yourself to an even better place?
For me, I’m tearing it all down. I’m viewing this year as if it is my last chance. I’m looking at this year as a proverbial ultimatum that has to be fulfilled or else I will lose everything. I’m changing all of my habits, revamping my study schedule and moving forward like a locomotive to crush my goals this year.
I’m swearing off laziness of any kind, decreasing my time in front of the T.V. (which is nothing more than an electronic income reducer), recommitting myself to more study, working harder, creating more detailed task lists, doing even more personal development than usual, going to more seminars and beating the living shit out of procrastination.
I’m going to be chunking my time more efficiently, working smarter and becoming more of a visionary. One concept that I have been thinking a lot about the last several weeks is that to really get to where you want to go, you must have hindsight in your foresight. You must be able to look ahead, and realize what the outcomes will be of actions you didn’t take, plans you didn’t make and records you didn’t break.
As I said in my last seminar, and at the conference in Orlando, one of the biggest illusions we put on ourselves is that we go through life like we have 500 years to get all of this stuff done. WE DON’T! If you want success, there is massive urgency. The time is now. Put up or shut up. Shit or get off the pot. Get up and get going!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s time to rock 2015 gang. Let’s do this freaking thing!
